Brian Monroe

Mr. Monroe is a Principal of Sawgrass and directs the firm’s marketing, client service and new business efforts. He serves on several of the firm’s committees, including management and strategic planning.

Prior to Sawgrass, he spent four years at Barnett Capital Advisors, Inc., directly responsible for all national market sales, new business development, and developing and serving client and consultant relationships in the Florida and national marketplace. He also spent five years working at SEI Capital Resources in their New York City office, serving as Primary Consultant to institutional plan sponsors in the corporate endowment, foundation, Taft-Hartley and hospital industries.

His educational accomplishments include a B.S. and M.B.A. in Finance from Providence College and a Series 65 License. He is the co-founder of the Jacksonville-based charity, Serving Up A Cure, which facilitates research for two local cancer organizations. He has also been a committee member for the Association of Investment Management Sales Executives (AIMSE) for the past 20 years.

Brian Engel, CAIA

Director of Institutional Business Development & Consultant Relations
Start of Sawgrass Career: 2024

Mr. Engel is a Director at Sawgrass leading the firm’s institutional business development and consultant relations efforts.  He has over 20 years of experience providing investment solutions to institutional plan sponsors and their consultants including, corporate and public pension plans, endowments, foundations, insurance companies and sub-advisory clients.  Prior to joining Sawgrass, Brian was a Director for the Institutional Client Group at Vontobel Asset Management.  Previously, he held similar roles with BMO Global Asset Management, Mesirow Financial, Advisory Research and Nuveen Investments.

His educational accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science in Accounting & Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.  In addition, he obtained the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation and holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Lori Bayler, CPPT

Sales Enablement Manager
Start of Sawgrass Career: 2003

Ms. Bayler is Sales Enablement Manager at Sawgrass, responsible for a variety of sales, marketing and client service efforts, including the firm’s marketing materials, presentations, responses to request for proposals and consultant questionnaires, and database maintenance.

Her educational accomplishments include graduating Summa Cum Laude and with Baccalaureate Honors with a B.B.A. in Marketing & Management from the University of North Florida.

Khajasta Nichols

Office Manager
Start of Sawgrass Career: 2022

Mrs. Khajasta Nichols is an Office Manager at Sawgrass, responsible for a variety of office duties, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Prior to Sawgrass, she was working as an Office Manager, and spent four years working as an Executive Assistant in Dubai. Prior to that, she spent five years working for the national airline of the United Arab Emirates as a Flight Attendant.

Her educational accomplishments include attending Seneca College in Toronto, Canada.
